Langtang Valley Trek:

The Tamang Heritage trail in Nepal is a very interesting trek, journeying through Tamang villages and settlements, rhododendron forests, and spectacular mountain views. This trail is perfect for those adventurers who would like a unique experience to see the traditional, untouched Tamang heritage, customs, and lifestyle.

The Tamang people are descendants from Tibet and are not accustomed to many tourists, thus the culture here is virtually untouched. Also, in March and April, the rhododendron forests are in bloom and full of many different species of trees, birds, and butterflies. There is also a viewpoint at Goljung pass from where we can see the awe-inspiring views of Langtang and Kerung (Tibet).

You might even see bears, leopards, red pandas,s or musk deer on this trek. This recently developed, off-the-beaten-path route combines picturesque landscapes, luring white peaks, and scattered ancient villages. Not to be missed!

Is a visa on arrival available?
Typically, yes. However, in response to the current Covid situation, rules for arriving visitors may change frequently and sometimes without notice. It may be necessary to obtain a tourist visa in your own country before traveling. For updated information on visas, please check the Nepal Tourism Board and the Government of Nepal Immigration websites.

How much will a trip to Nepal cost?
How much you spend in Nepal is largely decided by the things you want to do in the country. A 5-day trekking trip in Nepal can start from as little as USD 400 per person. A weekend-long safari in Chitwan National Park is available at less than USD 200.
On average, seven days in Nepal with accommodation and some or all meals included costs anywhere between USD 700 to USD 1500 per person. Good rooms at hotels in Nepal range from USD 25 to over USD 150 per person, per night, while around USD 1.5 a day can buy you three meals in decent restaurants.

How much money do I need to bring with me?
Your personal budget obviously depends on your spending habits and what is included in your trip cost. If accommodation is included, but meals are not, we would suggest that you bring around 30 USD per day per person for meals. Having a hot shower or charging your device sometimes costs extra. There are also sometimes small crafts/souvenirs to buy along the trekking route which you may want to bring extra money for. Also, consider whether you would be staying in Kathmandu or Pokhara before or after your trek.

How does it work with a porter?
Generally, the porter will pick up the baggage in the morning and drop it at the hotel in the evening. You will not always be walking with your porter or have access to your bag during the day, while trekking.

Is quarantine in Nepal in effect for arriving visitors?
In response to the current Covid situation, rules for arriving visitors may change frequently and sometimes without notice. Please check the government travel pages and advisories of your home country and the official website of the Nepal Tourism board here.
