5-Day Private Gorillas Golden Monkeys and Chimpanzees Safari

Pick up from either hotel or the airport and be ready for a 9 hours drive to Kibale forest national park. You will have lunch along the way. On arrival, late dinner will be served at the lodge, with its scenic view of the forest, of Kibale national park. Take an afternoon swamp walk in the Bigodi sanctuary to see some birds and other primates. All meals are included.

Have early morning breakfast before departing to the park headquarters where you will be given a safety and tracking briefing. You will then be taken by vehicle to a starting point to commence your chimpanzee trek in the forest. After this phenomenal wildlife experience, return to your vehicle on the edge of the forest and immediately kick start your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. All meals are included.

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by park ranger guides and depart with picnic lunch boxes to start Gorilla trekking – the activity can last up to 4 hours trek or more to find the Mountain Gorillas as you hike up and down the slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. Hence you will have a packed lunch for this activity. This active quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought-after creatures-the mountain Gorillas. Upon reaching them, you will have a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos.

After the briefing, embark on the golden monkey tracking. The encounter starts at 7 am at the Park headquarters where you head to the forest in unlimited numbers in search of these endangered Species. You take about 4 hours on the Golden monkey tracking experience, including one hour encounter with them where you see them roll themselves on the Bamboo stems and present themselves with not much shyness as it has been reduced through habituation and enjoy the sights of their silver patch. You will transfer back to Kigali Airport. The drive takes you through different features including tropical rain forests and the undulating terraced hills of the Kigezi region in Uganda and Rwanda, famously known as the Switzerland of Africa. You will be dropped off at Kigali Airport for your flight.
