Murchison Falls National Park lies at the northern end of the Albertine Rift where the bounding escarpments fade into the anonymous stretch of northern Uganda. The park protects a chunk of wildlife in its 3.840 sq. km and is bisected by the Victoria Nile as it flows west from Karuma Falls, crashing in a thundering roar as it squeezes through the narrow gorge at the Murchison Falls on its way to the Albert Nile. Book this Uganda tour and enjoy.
Today your driver-guide will meet you in your hotel within Kampala to begin your journey to Masindi where you find Murchison Falls National Park. The long drive is incredibly scenic, passing through the exclusive green countryside which characterizes so much of Uganda. Go to the top of the falls to see the most spectacular waterfalls squeezing through a 6m gap in the rock crashing through a narrow gorge with unbelievable power. Retire for the boat cruise to the peaceful Victoria Nile and the base of the fall just a few meters from the devil’s cauldron. There you can see pleasant hippos, and crocodiles, and over a 17-meter stretch, you may see elephants, and waterbucks among others. You will also have an opportunity to view bird species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant, and the rare shoebill stork. Overnight at Red Chili Rest Camp, an exclusive safari lodge located on the outskirts of Paraa in the western sector of the Park.
