7 Days Ndutu Wildebeest Migration and Calving Season

Morning breakfast, check out and our guide will give you a short overview/brief about your safari before driving to Tarangire National Park with packed lunch boxes for a full-day game drive. Tarangire is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania after Ruaha, Serengeti, Mikumi, Katavi, and Mkomazi. Activities will include a wildlife game drive where you can see pythons climb trees and lions and leopards among others. For the bird lovers, keep an eye for the screeching flocks of colorful Yellow-collared lovebirds and the somewhat drabber Rufous-tailed weaver and ashy starling. These are all endemic to the dry Savannah of north-central Tanzania. In the evening you will drive to your Camp within the park for dinner and overnight stay on Full Board Basis.

After breakfast and with our packed lunch boxes we will start our safari to the Ndutu area for a full-day game drive. Ndutu is within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and is situated in the Southern part of the Serengeti ecosystem. Lake Ndutu like most other Rift Valley lakes is alkaline. However, the water is still drinkable and consumed by a wide array of local wildlife and the majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to March. The area is usually heavily populated with elephants, birds, and resident games. In the evening you will drive to your camp for Dinner and Overnight stay on Full Board Basis.

Morning breakfast then starts to enjoy your game drives in the Ndutu area along the Southern Part of Serengeti exploring a great range of habitats such as swamps, woodland, soda lakes, and the world-famous Serengeti short grass plains. You will witness herds of wildebeest and zebras, especially during a short time frame from around February, lasting for about 3 weeks where most of the wildebeest calves. The Sea of grass provides little cover and the young make easy prey for various predators. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after birth and within 3 days are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd. Later you will return to your camp for dinner and overnight stay on Full Board Basis.

Morning breakfast, hotel check out then drive to Serengeti National Park (Central Area) for a full day of game drive with your packed lunch boxes. The Serengeti “Endless Plain” is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular National Park. Serengeti is famed for its annual migration where some six million hooves pound the open plains. Serengeti offers an exotic game-viewing experience in the whole of Africa giving you an up-close look at the animals you’ve only seen in National Geographic: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala Grant’s gazelle and many more. Dinner and Overnight at your Camp on Full Board Basis.

After breakfast, we will have a half-day game drive around Serengeti till the afternoon then start driving to the Ngorongoro Conservation area with an en-route game drive to your lodge within Ngorongoro for dinner overnight stay on Full Board Basis.

We’ll leave after breakfast and descend the Crater. More than 20,000 different mammals live in the area, including about 20 black rhinoceros, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these amazing creatures. The crater floor also has one of the highest carnivore densities in the world. Game drives will be done till afternoon then ascend the crater for driving back to Kilimanjaro Airport via Arusha town to connect your flight to Zanzibar or back home.
