Top Attraction

Here are the must-do things in Kuşadası while you are on vacation.
  • Explore Ephesus
If you’re visiting Kuşadası, a journey to Ephesus is a must. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, only 18 kilometers northeast of town, is a popular half-day trip. Due to frequent minibus service between Kuşadası and Selçuk (near the old city), this ancient town is easily accessible even if you don’t want to take a guided tour. This ancient Greek city was once home to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The town was approximately founded in the 10th century BC by the Greeks but later fell under the Persian and Roman Empires. Many significant architectural masterpieces still stand today are from the Greco-Roman classical era. There are many unique sites among the ruins: the Library of Celsus, the Gate of Augustus, the Theatre of Ephesus, the Temple of Hadrian, aqueducts, bathhouses, agoras, basilicas, and many, many more. So, we repeat it: Don’t. Miss. Ephesus.
  • Visit Pigeon Island
A 350-meter causeway extends out of Kuşadası bay to Pigeon Island (Güvercin Ada), where the ruins of a 14th-century Byzantine castle exist on a rock. The island is the perfect spot for a casual stroll, especially with the beautiful flower garden inside the fort and the rabbits roaming the park! A walkway weaves its way around the island, passing through indigenous trees and plants such as Turkish pine and the protected Kuşadas tülüşah flower. There are signs along the way that highlights the ecology of the region. The view is perfect, and best of all, it’s free!
  • Don’t Miss the Ladies’ Beach
This is one of Kuşadası’s most popular beaches, located approximately two kilometers from the city. This lively beach offers many activities. You can also rent sun lounges and umbrellas to relax and unwind on the beach or spend your time in the many cafes and bars. The beach can and will get crowded on holidays or the weekend. However, visiting here on weekdays and in the off-season can be relaxing and peaceful.
  • Shop at Kuşadası Bazaar
If shopping is your thing, you won’t want to miss strolling through the sparkling alleys of Kuşadası Bazaar. It will undoubtedly boost any shopaholic’s mood with its wide variety of shops selling reasonably priced items. It sells everything from clothes and carpets to decorations and pottery. This site is considered a shopping wonderland for all those who enjoy the activity and is one of the best spots to visit in town, especially at night.

Tourist Transportation

Kuşadası has good public transportation. Like many other cities in Turkey, the easy and cheap method of getting around town is minibusses, often known as “Dolmus.”  Metered taxis are also available, but the cost will undoubtedly be higher. The preferable method of intercity transportation is the bus, due to its wide availability and reasonable price.

When Is the Best Time to Take a tour

Unlike the other cities on the Turquoise Coast, the climate of Kuşadası is the Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and pleasant winters.  The ideal time to visit Kuşadası if you want to catch some sunshine is from June to September. July is the year’s warmest month, with average daily highs of 32°C and lows of 23°C.
