Fez, one of the famous cities of the Moroccan Empire, is the second largest city in Morocco after Casablanca. Fez was a former capital, cultural and economic hub of Morocco , which is today the most visited entertainment destination in the country. Medina of Fez (Fes el-Bali): Located in the walled city, the Fes el-Bali is the oldest neighborhood in the city that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Medina of Fez consists of over 9,000 labyrinthine narrow alleyways; therefore, sturdy shoes are necessary to explore this hilly area.

 Borj Nord: Located in the city of Fez, Borj Nord is a fort established in 1582 by Sultan Ahmed Al Mansour. Boj Nord is home to a military museum that displays European and Middle Eastern weapons and armories. Borj Nord also presents a great view of Fez from the roof. 

Bou Inania Madrasa: Founded in the mid-14th century, the Bou Inania Madrasa is one of the holiest and most famous monuments in Fez. Bou Inania Madrasa is decorated with magnificent carved woodwork and stucco that proudly show the skill and man-hours of ancient times. 

Bab Bou Jeloud: Dating back to 1913, the Bab Bou Jeloud is a relatively modern landmark established during the French occupation. Serves as the gateway into the heart of the bustling city of Fez, the Bab Bou Jeloud’s arches are embellished with Fassi mosaic cobalt blue tiles on the exterior wall and greens on the interiors, showing the sacred color of Islam.   

Karaouine Mosque (Mosque of al-Qarawiyyin): Al-Qarawiyyin is one of the oldest universities in the world as well as one of the largest mosques in Africa that was established in 859 C.E. Nowadays, it functions as a mosque, library, and University.   

When Is the Best Time to Take a tour

Fez enjoys a pleasant climate most times of the year, except for some freezing weeks in the winter. From April to November, the weather is nice. June, July, and August are the warmest months to visit Fez if you are into hot weather. Otherwise, Fez is fantastic in spring.

According to King Mohammed VI of Morocco, music is the most powerful form of spiritual expression, the medium most likely to bring humans together. Therefore, this form of spiritual expression is honored annually for 10 days in mid-summer in Fez, in the Festival of World Sacred Music.
