Top Things to Do in Guilin

If you are a first-time traveler to Guilin, here is a list of things to do to make your journey enjoyable:
    • Taking a River Cruise
The greatest way to appreciate the natural splendour of the area is to take a boat along the Li River from Guilin to the picturesque village of Yangshuo. Beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains, lush rice patties, and grazing water buffalo can be seen from the river. Fishermen fishing from bamboo boats can also be seen by visitors. The 52-mile journey takes between four to five hours, with boats departing from the wharf near Guilin’s Liberation Bridge.
    • Eating Rice Noodles
Rice noodles from Guilin are well-known across China as an inexpensive and tasty meal that can be eaten at any time of day. Noodles are soft and tasty, and they’re usually served in a broth with sauce, pickled vegetables, peanuts, and various sorts of meat. Pepper oil or chilli flakes can be used to add some spice. These famous noodles may be found in various restaurants in and around Guilin.
    • Visiting Reed Flute Cave
Reed Flute Cave, located three miles northwest of Guilin city, is a fascinating place to spend an afternoon. The cave’s water-eroded limestone deposits have developed stunning shapes of stalactites, stalagmites, and ancient rock formations across the 240-meter chamber, earning it the name “Reed Cave.” Visitors can observe old ink writings on the rocks going back to the Tang Dynasty, which is illuminated by multi-colored lights.

    Tourist Transportation

Guilin now has an international airport and many railway terminals that link to major cities both domestically and internationally. Guilin is also well-positioned for visiting nearby sites. Traveling to Yangshuo and Longsheng from Guilin can be made by bus, taxi, or private automobile.

When Is the Best Time to Take a tour

Though the temperature in Guilin is ideal all year round, the best time to visit Guilin and Yangshuo is from April to October. Fall is a great time to go riding in Yangshuo’s countryside. April, May, and June are the most humid months of the year, with the Li River and surrounding landscape covered in mist.
